Gerd Infanger is a Consulting Professor in the Management Science and Engineering Department where he teaches and conducts research in the area of stochastic optimization and its applications with greatest interest in finance. Upon coming to Stanford, Infanger's research became focused on the development of the theory, algorithms and software for solving large-scale stochastic programs. Currently he is also the CEO of Infanger Investment Technology, which manages mutual and hedge funds based on its state-of-the-art mathematical techniques. Infanger received his B.S. from Graz University of Technology and his Ph.D. at Vienna University of Technology in Energy Economics and Operations Research.
