Description: This session will explore the landscape of digital asset trading. Eric Chang will discuss how statistical arbitrage adapts from equities to digital assets, covering key differences, risks, and practical lessons on starting and scaling a fund. Danning Sui will provide an overview of the evolving block-building/MEV market, CEX-DEX arbitrage profits, and how these dynamics shape order flow and builder markets.

Speaker Biographies:

  • Eric Chang is a co-founding partner at Alpha EV, a fund specializing in statistical arbitrage and exposure strategies. He has advised top blockchain projects on everything from technical audits to market nuance. Previously, he worked in sports betting and interned at the Ethereum Foundation. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Computer Science from Yale.
  • Danning Sui is Research Director at Pantera Capital, one of the earliest and largest crypto funds. She previously led data teams at Flashbots, 0x Labs, and ConsenSys, building open-source datasets and empirical research on MEV and DEXs. She co-hosts the Indexed podcast, holds an M.S. in Data Science from Columbia, and a B.S. in Mathematics from Zhejiang University.
